BARTF Velour Face Towels
It was proberly in 2002, that I first had the idea to start a towel project to raise money for the building that I believe God wants me to create and build for BARTF productions. The inspiration came from the religious services that I attend. As a Pentecostal, there is always a great expression of emotion when we praise the Lord and I began to notice that many male ministers used plain white handkerchiefs to mop the sweat from their faces and females were using customised laced ones, usually in black or white to do the same. Some would use an ordinary face flannel. I suddenly realised that I could ‘invent’ a useful towel that I thought would be original and practical. I was thinking aloud to market the idea and called it a ‘sweat-mop’ in one of my circles, but after saying the word a few times, the response I received to that name was unfavourable, so it is simply marketed as a Praise towel or uncomplicatedly, a towel with many uses!
I happen to believe that velour is a luxurious type of fabric and decided to choose this for the towels. It is of a very high quality and has the logo embroidered in gold and a matching brass chain. There are currently six colours available; Black, White, Navy Blue, Dark Green, and Red, Lilac & Light Brown. Other colours and sizes will be introduced in the future. Each towel carries a care label.
The towels are sold at £4.00 each. The towels can be personalised for an addition cost with your initials, name and favorite scripture reference. Other ideas will be considered.
I would like to thank my beautiful, ever loving and supporting mother, Mrs Norma Jean Reynolds, for making the towel project come alive by investing the initial sum of money to buy our first stock, (I love you mom!).
All of the funds received from the towels sales will go into future Christian promotion projects of the organisation.
